An artist on Flickr recently posted work from the Volta art fair. One of the painters whose work he photographed was Khalif Kelly a student at yale. I am really draw to all the paintings I have seen so far. The work is illustrative, and honest with a touch of politics. People are relating him to Jacob Lawrence but I see more of Balthus.

More boxes. The Handel on this one is made from a piece of antique spatula, a piece of felt, an old rusty washer, a wooden peg, and piece of a tag my mechanic put on my keys when my check engine light decided to come on for no apparent reason.
